BASIS (Registration) Ltd offer a wide range of training courses of relevance to the agricultural, amenity, fertiliser and environmental industries.
These courses range from 1-2 day short courses to intensive long-term courses, such as the BASIS Certificate in Crop Protection. The training for the majority of our courses is undertaken by external training providers, who are conveniently based around the country.

BASIS Certificate in Crop Protection (Agriculture): Training and certification for sellers of agrochemicals and those giving advice on their use in the agriculture sector.
BASIS Certificate in Crop Protection (Amenity Horticulture): Training and certification for sellers of agrochemicals and those giving advice on their use in the amenity sector.

BASIS Certificate in Crop Protection (Seed Sellers): Training and certification for sellers of agrochemicals and those giving advice on their use in the seed sellers sector.
BASIS Certificate in Crop Protection (Seed Treatment): Training and certification for sellers of agrochemicals and those giving advice on their use in the seed treatment sector.
BASIS Certificate in Crop Protection (Vegetables): Training and certification for sellers of agrochemicals and those giving advice on their use in the vegetables sector.
BASIS Advanced Crop Modules
Aimed at those candidates who have several years of practical experience and who are motivated to progress within the industry, or who are moving into a new area and facing crops not previously experienced.
BASIS Diploma in Agronomy: Attainable following the completion of a number of BASIS training courses.
Foundation Award in Agronomy (Agriculture & Vegetables): A sound introduction to agronomy, integrated crop protection and crop nutrition.
Foundation Award in Amenity Horticulture: An introduction to the key elements of the use of professional pesticides in some important areas of Amenity Horticulture.
Guardian Certificate: BASIS Certificate in Garden Care for the Adviser and Seller of Garden Products
Soil & Water Management Certificate: Focuses on the management of soil and water, two essential components of agriculture.
BETA (Biodiversity & Environmental Training for Advisers): Progresses the knowledge and skills of on-farm advisers, and promote the protection and enhancement of biodiversity.
BETA Amenity (Biodiversity & Environmental Training for Advisers): Progresses the knowledge and skills of advisers working in amenity horticulture, ground-care and related industries, and promote the protection and enhancement of biodiversity.
POWER (Protection of Water, the Environment & Recommendations) - Agriculture or Amenity: Enables contract specifiers, managers and supervisors of spray operators to be aware of what is involved in pesticide use, and the issues of control needed for safe and environmentally-caring outcomes.
PPA (Plant Protection Award): Covers plant protection technology, plant protection and its implementation in agricultural systems and society, formulations, modes of action and application and health and safety.
Conservation Management: Aimed at those managing farms or involved in estate management. Covers care and attention on-farm to soil, air, water, wildlife, the environment and biodiversity of species.
ICM (Integrated Crop Management): Provides an insight into Integrated Crop Management for anyone who is involved (directly or indirectly) in food production.
Wildlife Aware: Aimed at those who offer a service of rodent pest management to farming enterprises and other businesses in rural areas.
BASIS Course Information Booklet: A brief explanation of all of the above courses.
Nominated Storekeeper Training Course/Nominated Storekeeper Refresher Training Course: Enables nominated storekeepers to meet the standards of pesticide storage laid down in the 'Code of Practice for Suppliers of Pesticides to Agriculture, Horticulture and Forestry'. A legal requirement for companies storing over 200 litres of pesticide.
Dangerous Good Awareness Training: Persons whose duties concern the carriage of dangerous goods by road should have received training in the requirements governing the carriage of such goods appropriate to their responsibilities and duties according to chapter 1.3 of ADR. Training requirements specific to security of dangerous goods in chapter 1.10 should also be addressed. The training requirement applies to the following individuals:
